J-Hope begins countdown for military discharge; BTS singer shares heartwarming letter with ARMY

Months after Jin (born Kim Seok-jin) was officially discharged from the military, BTS member J-Hope has revealed that he has only a month left until he bids farewell to the armed forces of South Korea. The rapper took to social media and shared a heartwarming letter to inform ARMY that the countdown has begun for his military discharge.

In this letter, the rapper, also known as Jung Hoseok or Hobi, reflected on his time in the military. He revealed that he has started packing his belongings and cherishing memories of his initial days of training. Initially, he was nervous, but looking back, he has come to appreciate the experience. J-Hope shares update about military discharge

J-Hope shared the heartfelt note on Weverse. As translated by an X user, @btstranslation7, the rapper – fondly known as Hobi, said, “One month, exactly 30 days left to go! All that time flew by but I’m already reminiscing about it, guess I grew pretty fond of everything here. I’ve been packing, giving away some of the gear I came to cherish, and my locker’s starting to look a bit empty and that’s when the feeling really starts to sink in.”

The Sunshine of BTS also added, “I look back and it all comes flooding back, those early days where I was nervous and tense and didn’t know what I know now.. that everything would be just fine. (even the sound of the locker screeching open was triggering).” Hobi shared, “These days, I look at the recruits who are just starting and I can read their minds. reminds me a bit of myself so I find it kinda cute. sigh. I can’t stop my emotions from taking over, these strong Emotions with a capital E.. well I’m proud of myself! I made it!.”

J-Hope ended his letter by saying, “There you have it, I’ll see you all a month from today. Wishing everyone the best of health until then…! Salute ARMY!” He also shared a selfie with fans. Member of BTS Jungkook replied to his post, saying, “You worked hard, J-Hope.”

J-Hope’s concluding letter

In his concluding letter, Hobi wrote, “I say all this and I’m writing this from my bed haha. I am one of those* ‘so-close-to-being-discharged-sergeants’. Having the holiday (chuseok) off is pretty nice!! A full day to properly rest! Alright, that was a lot but I wanted to come on here. And say I hope you spent a joyful chuseok~ isn’t it crazy it happens to be the day I start the 30-day countdown?? While everyone’s peacefully winding down with family, the butterfly in my heart is fluttering around to no end. Sure it’s a warmer chuseok than usual but!! Wishing your families an abundant harvest season. Hoping fall will come soon so I can ‘keep an eye on those leaves’.”

J-Hope will be the second BTS member to complete their military service, following Jin’s discharge earlier this year.
